HealthEase now runs whole hospitals, not just the front desk. Read more →

Patient queue management, where HealthEase began.

HealthEase, clinic and hospital software developed today by Vanta (Private) Limited, started as a queue system built by Dex N Hex for one of the busiest outpatient departments in Karachi. It still does that job first: register fast, print a token, send the patient to the right room, and show everyone where they stand.

How the queue works. From the door to the doctor.

  • Registration in seconds

A trained operator registers a patient in 15 to 20 seconds and prints a numbered token. Returning patients are found by MR number.

  • The right room, automatically

Rooms take turns: each takes a set number of patients before the next room’s turn, so the load is shared fairly. Rooms can be kept for one gender, and the desk can still choose a room by hand.

  • A board the whole room can read

Display boards show the token being served in every room, so nobody has to ask the front desk where they are in line.

  • Next, recall, skip

Each room calls the next patient with one tap, recalls a token that missed its turn, or skips a no-show, and the board updates for everyone.

  • Keeps going offline

If the connection drops, registration and tokens carry on, and the queue syncs when it is back.

  • Every visit counted

Each token is a recorded visit, so daily and monthly numbers by OPD, room and doctor are exact, not estimates.

Not a feature added later. The first thing it ever did.

Dex N Hex built the first version in 2023 for a familiar problem: a crowded waiting room, arguments over token numbers, and a register nobody could read by evening. In March 2024 it went live at the Institute of Skin Diseases in Karachi, with four patient counters serving 3,000 to 5,000 patients every morning.

Over more than two years it registered more than 3 million visits there, and every request from that floor, records, prescriptions, billing, pharmacy, wards, became part of HealthEase. Read the full history.

Questions, answered plainly.

What is a patient queue management system?

A patient queue management system registers patients, gives each one a token, sends them to a room, and shows waiting patients when it is their turn. It replaces paper slips and shouting with a fair, visible order.

How did HealthEase start?

HealthEase began as a queue management system. Dex N Hex built it in 2023, and in March 2024 it replaced paper slips at the Institute of Skin Diseases in Karachi. Everything else HealthEase does grew from that queue.

How fast is registration?

At the Institute of Skin Diseases, trained operators registered each patient in 15 to 20 seconds, which let four counters keep up with 5,000 patients in a morning.

Does it need special hardware?

No. Any device with a web browser runs the desk, a standard thermal printer prints tokens, and any screen with a browser can be a display board.

Can I use only the queue?

Yes. Clinics often start with registration and the queue, then turn on records, prescriptions, pharmacy or wards when they are ready. You pay for the modules you use.
